Churnkey pricing and what cancel flows cost at your churn volume
Churnkey pricing starts at 250 USD per month on the Starter plan, billed yearly, for teams with under 5,000 USD of monthly churned revenue, according to Churnkey's own pricing page. Core and Intelligence are for teams with 10,000 USD or more of monthly churn and are priced by quote. The price is set by churned revenue, not by MRR, and stays fixed for 12 months.
Below is what that means for a real company, what the plans include and when a smaller tool covers the same ground for less.
Churnkey plans and prices
These figures come from the Churnkey pricing page for Stripe. Only Starter shows a number. Vendor prices change, so confirm on their site before you sign up.
| Plan | Price | Who it is for | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 250 USD per month, billed yearly | Under 5,000 USD monthly churn | Cancel flows, payment recovery, metrics |
| Core | Quote, 14-day trial | 10,000 USD or more monthly churn | Adds A/B tests, unlimited segments, customer timelines, precision retries, Slack and webhooks |
| Intelligence | Quote | 10,000 USD or more monthly churn | Adds adaptive offers, an account agent, feedback AI, translations and compliance automation |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Large volume | Dedicated success and technical managers, custom integrations, SLA support |
Starter comes with a 14-day trial and no card required. Month to month payment is available and can be canceled anytime, while annual payment is discounted. The page does not list a plan for teams between 5,000 and 10,000 USD of monthly churn, so expect a quote there too.
Why Churnkey prices by churned revenue
Most retention tools price by MRR. Churnkey prices by average monthly churned revenue, meaning the dollars that cancel or fail each month. That is the pool its cancel flows and payment recovery work on, so the logic is fair. It does mean two companies with the same MRR can pay very different prices.
| Your MRR | Monthly churn rate | Churned revenue per month | Likely Churnkey plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30,000 USD | 4 percent | 1,200 USD | Starter, 250 USD per month |
| 100,000 USD | 4 percent | 4,000 USD | Starter, 250 USD per month |
| 100,000 USD | 8 percent | 8,000 USD | Between published tiers, quote |
| 400,000 USD | 3 percent | 12,000 USD | Core or Intelligence, quote |
The last column is our reading of the published bands, not a quote. For a sense of the upper range, Vendr reports a median of about 36,500 USD per year from deals its buyers shared, which reflects larger companies on quoted plans.
When Churnkey pricing is worth paying
Churnkey is strongest on voluntary churn. Its cancel flows offer pauses, discounts and plan changes at the moment someone clicks cancel, and the higher plans test those offers against each other. It is worth the price when:
- Customers clicking cancel, not failed cards, are your biggest loss.
- You churn enough each month that saving a handful of accounts covers 3,000 USD a year.
- Someone owns the cancel flow and will keep testing offers.
It is a harder sell at under about 30,000 USD of MRR, where 250 USD a month can be close to 1 percent of revenue, or when you have not yet measured how much you lose to failed payments versus cancellations.
Revenue leaks a cancel flow never sees
Cancel flows and dunning only act when a customer leaves or a card fails. Plenty of revenue leaks out while every invoice is marked paid:
- Customers renewing at a price from three years ago.
- Seat upgrades that were never prorated or invoiced.
- Coupons set to forever that were meant to run for three months.
- Comped accounts that nobody moved back to a paid plan.
- Refunds issued twice, once by support and once by finance.
None of these produce a cancellation or a failed charge, so a retention tool reports nothing. The revenue leakage examples article shows what each one looks like in billing data.
A lower cost Churnkey alternative for smaller SaaS teams
RevenueLeak includes failed payment recovery in every plan and audits nine leak categories, priced in dollars per account. Plans start at 24 USD per month billed yearly, or 49 USD billed monthly, for MRR up to 10,000 USD. Growth covers MRR up to 100,000 USD at 149 USD per month billed yearly. That is less than the Churnkey Starter price for a company that would sit in Churnkey's Starter band.
Recovery reads each decline code. Soft declines keep your billing platform's retries, hard declines go straight to a card update request, and cards expiring in the next 90 days get a request before renewal. The full method is on failed payment recovery, and every plan is on the revenue optimization software pricing page.
Where Churnkey is stronger: cancel flows with offers, A/B testing and AI features on the higher plans. If voluntary cancellations are most of your churn, that depth is worth paying for. What finance should check before signing
Retention vendors report recovered revenue in their own dashboards, and those numbers rarely match the books on the first try. Before you sign a yearly contract, agree on how a save is counted (an accepted offer, or a payment that actually lands) and check a month of claimed recoveries against the payouts your processor sends to the bank. If your team already uses bank reconciliation software to match deposits to the ledger, that month of payouts is a quick test. A vendor whose numbers survive it is a vendor worth renewing.
How to decide in one afternoon
1. Run the estimate on our home page with your MRR, customer count and billing system. It runs without an account.
2. Split the result into voluntary cancellations, failed payments and leaks that never fail.
3. If cancellations dominate and your monthly churn is near 5,000 USD or more, request a Churnkey trial and price.
4. If failed payments and silent leaks dominate, a recovery and audit tool covers more of the loss for less.
Questions about Churnkey pricing
How much does Churnkey cost?
Churnkey Starter costs 250 USD per month, billed yearly, for teams with under 5,000 USD of monthly churned revenue. Core and Intelligence are for teams with 10,000 USD or more of monthly churn and are priced by quote. Enterprise is a custom quote. The price is fixed for 12 months once you sign.
Does Churnkey have a free trial?
Yes. The Starter plan has a 14-day trial with no credit card required, and Core also lists a 14-day trial. Intelligence and Enterprise start with a pricing quote instead of a self-serve trial.
Does Churnkey charge a percentage of recovered revenue?
The pricing page does not list a commission or per-recovery fee. The price is a subscription set by your average monthly churned revenue, so it moves when your churn volume moves into a different band, not with each recovered payment.
Can you pay for Churnkey monthly?
Yes. Churnkey says month to month payment is available and can be canceled anytime. Annual payment is discounted but not required. The published Starter price of 250 USD per month is the yearly billing rate.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Churnkey?
Yes. RevenueLeak includes failed payment recovery from 24 USD per month billed yearly and also audits pricing, discount and refund leaks. Churnkey is stronger on cancel flows and offer testing, so the right choice depends on whether cancellations or failed payments cost you more.
